Uverse and Series 2 Single Tuner TIVOs

I currently have 2 series 2 single tuner Tivos. I have Att DSL 1.5. Att says that is the only speed available and I have tried to call many times and tried to get an ATT tech in the area to check out the line to see if it would support more, no luck. The service is pretty dependable, but I download from the internet and I know I will need more speed as I would like to go to voip on the phone also. If I go to uverse, which is available in my area and continue to use my networked Tivos, am I going to have any problems with recording SD programs and MRV which we do a lot of. I'm not going to get their DVR because I really enjoy the Tivos and I don't have HD tv yet,( I know hard to believe but that's what loss of job will do to plans). Just want to make sure that there is nothing except having to use the IR blaster to control the Tivos will be different. Sorry for the rambling on trying not to make life any more trouble than it is.

I'd not get the VOIP.
I'd make a two layer network. One for the Uverse boxes from their router, then your router, which will isolate network transfers from the Uverse traffic.
