Hello all,
I'm stumped and need some help. I'm setup with FiOS and 4 Tivo HD DVR's. I've had them for over a year, and MRV was added just shortly after I purchased them and has worked flawlessly until this week.
My network is flat, one class c NAT'd subnet, no routers or firewalls between Tivo's. My desktop can see all Tivo's, ping all Tivo's and Tivo Desktop can pull "Now Playing" lists from all Tivo's. However, two Tivo's are connected to the network with coax MoCA adapters (coax-to-ethernet, compatible with FiOS' broadband routers.)
About 2 weeks ago I decided to install pyTivo. Worked great, all was fine. After deciding I was satisifed with pyTivo I uninstalled Tivo Desktop.
At this point, both pyTivo and Tivo Desktop were gone from my now playing list. I reinstalled Tivo Desktop thinking that was the issue and the Tivos still don't see it. Whats even more odd is around the same time the two Tivo's that were attached via the MoCA adapters vanished from the list. So basically here was the scenario:
Tivo1 - Tivo on ethernet switch
Tivo2 - Tivo on ethernet switch
TivoM1 - Tivo on MoCA adapter
TivoM2 - Tivo on MoCA adapter
so Tivo1 can see Tivo2 but not tivom1 or tivom2.
Tivom1 can see tivom2 and tivo2 but not tivo1
Rebooting Tivo1 allows it to see all tivo's for about 10-15 minutes, and it functions flawlessly (can transfer shows, etc) but then they disappear again.
Rebooting TivoM1 or TivoM2 allows Tivo1 to see them and allows them to see TiVo1. Haven't run any tests from the basement yet.
I'm guessing the TiVo's perform their discovery via some sort of network broadcast but I'm not sure. Nothing has changed in my network configuration.
Anyone know whats going on? What would interfere with the discovery broadcasts between units? Thanks in advance,
