tune away from disliked shows

I'd like to request a new feature to protect me from shows I've given thumbs down to. Some mornings I wake up with the TV on Nickelodeon, as it picks up the morning showing of the Fairly Oddparents. Good. I sometimes watch and doze back off, to be rudely awakened by the opening theme song to the Backyardigans. Not good. I've thumbs downed that show a couple thousand times. I'd like my Tivo to recognize that, and change to anything else it may think is better at the time, and I can thumbs down any of those jumps I also hate to avoid them again too.

Kindof like the flipside of the Tivo Suggestions coin, help me avoid stuff I don't like ever coming out of my CRT or speakers...

I think TiVo can control the shows you tape, but not the live feed from whatever channel you are on.

If you don't want to wake up to that channel, set up a 5 minute manual taping on a channel you do like. That way TiVo will switch the channel and you've only used up 5 minutes of space.

If you set the manual recording to keep at most one, it will refresh those 5 minutes and you'll always have the newest one (i.e., news, for example) to see.
