I am missing about 20 channels or so from my current Freeview lineup including Virgin 1, and others which I think are on the same mux (D, I think.) including Film4 and ITV2+1

I've rescanned umpteen times to no avail. It's the same problem whether I use my Pioneer's media box tuner or the Thompson tuner I use with my Tivo.

Someone on another site suggested weather problems were the cause but for this length of time - nearly two weeks?

Anyone know what might be causing this, and what I can do about it?

If you've lost a Freeview mux on two receivers, it could be a problem with your aerial or with your local transmitter certainly not Tivo.
It's possible that your local transmitter is broadcasting a mux at a lower power for maintenance reasons?
If your signal on that mux is marginal then your aerial drooping lightly (fat bird perching on it) or wind could move it out of line enough to lose the signal?

A bit more info about your broad location (first part of postcode) and aerial arrangement might mean we can suggest more.

Thanks, I live in Glasgow so I think my local transmitter is the Blackhill one. As it happens, I had to get a guy to deal with satellite problem and I'm wondering if he might have knocked the aerial - but then why would it only affect one mux?

Muxes are transmitted at different power levels, so it's quite common for a signal to be good enough for one mux but not another.

A small knock on the aerial could be enough - esp. if its was knocked and 'put back' without checking the signal. I can imagine a satellite installer might not worry too much about the terrestrial aerial - I imagine many people don't use terrestrial much after they have installed satellite.
