I just started playing with Miro, downloading videos to a folder, letting Tivo Desktop Plus 2.6.2 transfer them to my Tivo HD. It worked tolerably well for several days. Today, with everything recently transferred the video freezes within 1 second, although the audio continues to play. Videos transferred before today still play fine. I restarted Tivo Desktop and even restarted Miro though I don't think it is involved - no change, freshly transferred videos still fail. Shows which Tivo recorded itself recently still play fine. I suppose I can try restarting the Tivo when I get home tonight. But I suspect Tivo Desktop has just become confused and started failing to convert the videos successfully. The videos play fine on the PC from inside Miro (i.e. before they get converted by TD). Thoughts?

If you're able to adjust settings in Miro, here are some basic settings that a Tivo requires.
Granted this is old info for the Series 2, so you could probably up the resolution and bit rate, and use AC/3 audio for the TivoHD.
Resolution 720 x 480, 704 x 480 (D1), 544 x 480 (3/4 D1), 480 x 480 (2/3 D1), and 352 x 480 (1/2 D1). The higher the resolution, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file, which means longer transfer time and more disk usage on your PC and DVR.
Bit Rate 1 – 8 Mbps. The higher the bit rate, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file. 4 Mbps is recommended for high-quality video.
Frame Rate 29.97 (standard NTSC). Do not try any different frame rates.
Aspect Ratio 4:3 (recommended) or 16:9
Audio MPEG-1 Layer 2 for TiVo DVRs without DVD; AC/3 (Dolby) for TiVo DVRs with DVD.
Hope this was helpful.

I don't see any way in Miro to set things like that. v1.2.8 on Windows. I suppose I could install it on Linux instead and between pyTivo and ffmpeg there ought to be a way to convert downloaded videos into something Tivo can eat. It's just curious that it was working and then feeds from the same sources stopped working.
