I just bought a new Sony DVD recorder w/VCR. I have a Sony TV (older model), A S2 Tivo. Everything works fine but the new DVD. Can someone please run through the proper hook-up. Thanks.

Assuming your TV has enough A/V inputs, each component should ideally have its own. DVD/VCR to one input. TiVo to another input.

Run another A/V cable from your TiVo's second output (it has two) to the input of the DVD/VHS if you wish to archive programs in this manner. This is also how you daisy-chain them together if you only have one A/V input on the TV, or if it only has an RF (antenna) input. To view the TiVo this way, make sure to select the proper aux input on the DVD/VHS as well.

Were you also planning to record programs directly to the DVD/VHS? If so, just split the cable with a splitter and run one feed to the TiVo and the other to the DVD/VHS. Note that you cannot simultaneously view a TiVo that is daisy-chained to a DVD recorder that is recording something else, and you will need to view the TiVo via a different input on the TV.
