Series 2 DT box paid sub until 2010 swap to Lifetime

Can I swap out the subscription (not the unit) and pay lifetime now if the sub doesn't expire until 2010 or do I have to wait until then for it to expire ?

Trying to save a bit of $$$ and change the services early !

If you mean get a credit for the remaining sub, and use it against a lifetime sub, no.

Tivo will allow you to sign up for a future plan, so you could go on-line to your account and add a lifetime sub to start at then end of the existing commitment. Its not going to save you anything, and depending on how old the S2 DT is, may not make economic sense.

Call TiVo and ask. It may depend if you prepaid until 2010 or ar paying monthly with a commitment until 2010.
