We just finished a big round of expansion/upgrades on our home theater: Blu-Ray player, Apple TV, and an HDMI switch to tie it all together.
It's mostly gone well: the Blu-Ray player didn't want to work with the switch at all, but I just switched it to my TVs DVI input and all is well. But I'm still having a problem watching my TiVo S3 in this new setup. Every once and awhile, though at least a couple times a week, when I switch over to the TiVo from watching the Apple TV, the picture will be fine except for an intermittent blink where the screen goes black for less than half a second and then comes back. There's not really a pattern to it. I am pretty sure it only happens when I switch inputs, but not if I'm starting with the TV turned off.
I've tried to resolve this myself by having the HDMI switch be "always on" but that doesn't seem to have worked.
I doubt the TiVo has anything to do with this problem, but I'm posting here on the off chance it might. And even if it doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if someone here knows what the problem is anyway and, most importantly, how to fix it.
