Hard drive fault?

I started to write a question about can the machines have fault in media, because my brand new HDTiVo was showing the symptoms.
Most of the previous entries about had drive faults apparently were about old machines.
Mine is brand new end of november, bought from
TiVo.
How do I get it replaced?

What are the symptoms?

The picture gradually starts with flecks turning to flashes and horizontal distortion, etc, and in about four minutes completely unwatchable.

Unwatchable but the video keeps playing and the system doesn't reboot? That doesn't sound like a hard drive issue to me. When the drive is failing the symptoms will either clear up momentarily or the system will freeze completely and eventually reboot.
