View Full Version : Decoder or Tivo having issues?

I have a Tivo 3 with dual decoder cards. I have noticed since the last service update that 1 or both of the decoder cards stop decoding certain channels.
The 1st time this happened, I flashed to the 2nd live view to check the other decoder and it was working just fine so I restarted the unit and it was back to normal, but it seems every 4 or 5 days now this issue is occuring again and now seems to be spreading to the 2nd decoder card.

Restarting the DVR always fixes the issue for awhile and I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue? I am guessing it's a Tivo bug and not comcast, since a restart fixes the issue....

Thanks

I have SA S-cards in a S3 and a HD under TWC, and they run weeks without issues. At one time I did have channel loss issues that turned out to be a bad card. Once TWC replaced it, all was well.

When it starts to act up, check out the diagnostics screen or the cablecards menu screen to see if the cards are behaving.

I am now seeing other threads with the same issue, I would blame comcast but if a reboot fixes the issue...... This only started to occur with the latest update

Tivo needs to fix this issue

I had this issue as well and tried every fix before finally relenting and getting Cox out here to replace the card. Now it is all fine. I couldn't imagine why it was only blocking out HBO on one of the S3 tuners, but was fine on the other -- and why a bad card would only have a problem with one station.

It's a pain, but my educated guess is that you have a card gone bad.
