So, I've had my S3 for a little over two years now and everything has been working splendidly. However, today, for no reason at all, the OLED lights on the front display simply stopped working. The LED lights work just fine (orange, red, blue, etc.) but the clock and what is being recorded no longer displays.

My question is, is there any way to replace these without having to send this off to Tivo (probably not) or should I send the unit off to Tivo?

You don't have the S3 in standby do you?

The OLED's don't light up in standby, but the other LED's do.

Based on your recommendation, I checked, and the unit is not in standby mode. I'm wondering if I'm screwed and I'm going to have to send the unit back to Tivo.

Check with weaknees.com http://www.weaknees.com/tivo-faceplate.php They have some faceplates, but the don't list the one you need. Email them to see if they might have one in stock.

Did you reboot it?

First thing I tried actually, but no luck. Since everything else works, I'm hesitant to do a "clear and delete everything" but that may be my only option. Even then, I wonder if that will have any effect at all.

The reboot would have shown Tivoguy, and Ready, Set, Tivo, in the OLED, as would pressing the Format button on the front as it cycles through different formats, if you're not seeing it light at any of those, it sounds like the OLED has gone kaput.

Isn't there a setting where you can turn these off? Maybe you did it accidentally. Check under "Settings - Display" and see if they just need to be turned back on.

Good thought. Also, the OLED display is blanked for non-kidzone programs if you are in kidzone.
