IMO this episode ranks up there with the first one. I think making the millionaires pay for their rent has to make a lot of difference in their perception of the just over $100 bucks they have and how little it gets them. When they don't have to pay rent there's significantly less concern over sleeping indoors or their next meal.
Bring me to another city, give me a place to live for a week, and put $100 in my pocket and I won't feel poor at all, maybe isolated and restricted, but not poor.

interesting that she worked in a few more places. I hate that the show is so 'foxized' but what can you do?

Millionaire gives $190K to 3
Leslie Richardson
Dec 18, 2008 (Republican & Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Three northern Schuylkill County women benefited from the generosity of Molly Shattuck, the wealthy Baltimore resident who spent a week in the communities as part of Fox's reality series "Secret Millionaire."
Although Shattuck gave out $190,000 during Wednesday's show, local community leaders expressed mixed feelings at how the northern part of the county -- where the episode was filmed -- was portrayed.
"I think it was a very lopsided view of the people of this region," said Mahanoy City Councilwoman Patti Schnitzius, who is also an employee of The REPUBLICAN & Herald. "There is a strong work ethic here and the show did not portray that. There wasn't one shot of the streetscape projects in any of the towns or any of the revitalization efforts. I think the people that received the money were very deserving and I am very glad for them, but I was not happy with the way the area was portrayed."
Film crews were in northern Schuylkill County in March and April under the guise of filming a documentary on poverty.
Shattuck said in an earlier interview she also worked at a diner in Shenandoah and a hair salon in Frackville, but neither business made the final cut.
