The only tv show I watch with kids is Everybody Hates Chris. The three kids on that show are threatened with getting their behinds whipped about every other episode. Every once in a while it's made evident that one of them did receive a butt whupping. Does physical punishment happen on any other show with kids?

Rare to see on most network shows...

I doubt you would see it on any show set that isn't set in the past.

Homer strangles Bart pretty darn frequently. Does that count?

Unless its something like a Lifetime movie, you can't kill kids either. Nor any domestic pets.

On the "Bernie Mac Show" the few times I watched, that seemed to be the main topic of conversation. Maybe it's a "black thing" sort of humor, I don't know.

Malcolm in the middle made some references to Lois beating her kids.

i should file a lawsuit against you for even bringing up the topic...that's what a kid today would do

In Rochelle's defense, though, almost all of her threats are pure hyperbole, e.g. "I'm going to slap the pores right off your face." It gets the point across without threatening actual violence.

If it doesn't, it should.
