I just setup my two tivos with wireless adapters to take advantage of this feature. I noticed when using it that some shows can't go between the two units, there is a red cirlce with a line through it for example dexter and celebrity rehab I also notice some of my chioldrens shows on Nick don't work.

Is this because of of copyrighting? I am not copying it but simply watching in a different room.

Do I need to do something to get it to work or will it simply never work for all programs?

I am assuming you have a Tivo HD or Series3. The show you are trying to transfer is most likely marked as copy once by your cable company. This means that the one copy on your Tivo is the only copy allowed. MRV (multi room viewing) actually copies the show to another Tivo, due to possible unreliable networking (can't guarantee that streaming will work). Unless something has gotten messed up (normally fixed for upcoming recordings by rebooting the Tivo) analog recordings and digital broadcast channels should never be marked copy once.

So when I view from my other Tivo, (One is series two the other is TivoHD) I understand it is transfering, is there a way to stream it rather than transfer it? If so how do I do that?

TiVo does not support streaming. Sorry.

I wish they would at least give you the option to stream instead of copy. Not only would it allow you to MRV (via streaming) some of these copy protected materials, but would reduce the time it takes to watch a show on another DVR. My ReplayTVs supported streaming to other Replays, and while I agree you need a pretty good network to do this, especially HD, I think the technology is there today (wireless-N, etc) to support this.

As was stated Tivo does not support streaming (maybe one day in the future...). Although it seems doubtful that they would implement it. I am hoping for an option to move it (deletes off the original box after transfer), but that is unlikely as well. Also, some notes for your specific set up.
1. Everything recorded on the S2 should be transferable to the HD. If it isn't try rebooting the S2. It won't fix already recorded programs but should help with any new recordings.
2. Anything recorded in HD cannot be tranfered to the S2. The bit rate of HD shows is too high for the S2 to handle.

Streaming doesn't reduce the time it takes to watch a show. The Tivo supports partial file playback. As soon as you have received enough that it doesn't think you will run out while watching it allows you to start watching. Thus if you are able to stream and watch, then you are able to copy and watch. As for 802.11n, the standard is not complete. It probably would have been by now if everyone an their brother hadn't decided to implement draft specifications in the own special way. Although things have gotten better there are still serious issues between different manufacturers working well together. Therefore, there is no 802.11n adapter from Tivo yet. (Now you could use a bridge to the wired port, but manufacturers charge an arm and a leg for those.) I hope Tivo decides to do something to give us MRV back for all channels. In reality the fault lies with the FCC. They specifically allow cable operators to set the flags. However, the flags only disable a services provided by other boxes, not their own so they are in an anti-competitive situation.

That is not true, I am trying to send program like Dexter for series 2 to Tivo HD and it says it can't and as someone said earlier it is because of copy protection I believe.

Not sure, I know I can transfer everything from my series 2 to my tivo HD, however I cannot transfer HD content from my HD to my series 2, because HD is not supported on the series 2.

I agree with not being able to transfer HD content to series 2 and I understand that.

The S2 only records from analog inputs, whether a direct cable connection or by controlling a STB. Copy protection flags are digital. Being able to copy analog dates back from the original "fair use" legislation brought on by the Sony Betamax. If you can't copy from your S2 to the S3, then something else may be wrong.

I have seen a few threads where the cable box went whacky and started sending out Macrovision on all channels, which will get passed through to your S2 even though it's analog.

Pulling the power cord on the cable box for about 30 seconds usually fixes it.
