I loved the end with the Canadian Bar. Especially when Marshal got up to do karaoke of 'Let's go to the Mall'.

Up to that point I felt the episode was ok, but not great. But then I just couldn't stop laughing.

Poor Robin. :D

So we will be seeing some little sister stories now.

The Robin/Marshal story was good. The other was just filler. Did like Barnie's Christmas Carols and Hanuka song were funny.

If Lily can't keep a secret, how come she hasn't told Robin that Barney's in love with her?

Getting to see Marshall at the end singing "Let's go to the mall" was totally worth the rest of this mediocre episode to me. Barney singing the "I want to do it with Ted's little sister" xmas songs was funny as well.

mediocre? Best EP in some time :)

I loved all the Canada scenes.

I personally think Ted's sister is still as immature as we've been told to believe she always has been, if she's pulling a prank on Ted just to see what would happen. Ted had every reason to believe what Lily said to him, and neither his sister nor Barney had any right to act disappointed or surprised when he did exactly what they expected he would.

The other story, with Robin and Marshall, was much better.

I did think it was funny when Robin said all men in Manhattan were 10% female, and she said this to, of all people, Marshall, who's at least twice that.

I may not go as far as you did in your second sentence, but I thought this was a great episode - far from mediocre!

I loved the Barney songs and I saved the episode to watch those again. I was also cracking up during the whole segment. I also liked the episode. Does this also mean Ted's sister will be a regular for some time? I like more eye candy :D

So, when are we going to see another slap bet slap? Does Marshall have any left?

Being from Minnesota (and having a piece of my heart die on Gary Anderson's botched kick, too! DAMN!!!), I thought the Walleye Saloon stuff was hilarious, though I've never heard the 'Canadians are afraid of the dark' thing before. And I busted out laughing when Marshall "bumped" the light switch in Hoser Hall (I think that was the name) and all the Canucks started screaming! :D

I have to say that this was the most enjoyable episode I've seen in quite some time as well. Up until now it's been kind of meh to me - like a sophomore slump or something.

That a woman in the Minnesota bar was down in the bottom of the screen in some shots with a Vikings jersey with the name Smulders on it?? She had blonde hair and I don't think she ever turned her face to the camera, so the name showed more than once. I don't recall the number. Nice touch.

Yes, and I liked this episode a lot better than that one.

"The Naked Guy" certainly wasn't bad, not even meh, but I personally don't see that as one of the best eps - upper 80%, but not the best.

Did anyone notice in what I think was the first scene when Ted's sister was introduced to the group at the bar, that Marshall greeted her with a "woo" ? I thought that was a nice call-back to the "woo-girls" episode, if it was intentional.

Do Minnesota fans really have that much heartache over the Falcons game and Gary Anderson? The next year they lost badly to the Rams. Two years later they were completely obliterated by the Giants 41-0, and that was the worst loss in franchise history supposedly.

what's worse ? getting massacred or being seconds from making the Super Bowl ? I'd say the latter.

Same goes for Cubs fans ... what was worse ? Being 5 outs away in 2003 or getting swept out of the playoffs this year ?

I thought the ep. was good, but certainly not Naked Man caliber. I'm getting a little sick of Marshall's mean spirited-ness.

Having the worst loss in franchise history when being favored to me is worse than blowing it on defense twice.

They weren't seconds away. They were 2 minutes away. The field goal was to go ahead by 10 with 2 minutes. They didn't go ahead by 10 and the falcons then tied it by scoring a TD. During that drive, a vikings player dropped an easy interception that would also have sealed it. The defense still had a chance to stop the falcons both in regulation and OT and failed both times. That is a common scenario and the only reason why anyone would be so upset at the kicker is because he had a perfect season until then. Kickers miss FGs all the time.

It sucked for the Atlanta fans too, because we knew full well that we won that game not because of good play, but because of sheer luck. Then we went on to lose the Superbowl. Maybe that doesn't suck worse, but it still sucks.

Kickers don't miss indoor field goals from 40 yards all the time. It probably didn't help that the '98 Vikings were the first team (the Steelers in '04 did it too) to go 15-1 and not win the Super Bowl. And the '00 Vikings may have been favored in the NFC championship game; they were also playing on the road.

No, it wasn't; it wasn't even close. The minute James Loney hit his grand slam in game 1, every Cubs fan knew they were done, no matter how well they did in the regular season. The same was probably true after the Bartman incident; the difference is that one happened 5 outs from the World Series and the other happened in the first game of the Division Series.

This year's collapse doesn't compete with '03, '84, '69 or '45. Plus, the outcome of the series wasn't exactly a terrible upset considering how well the Dodgers were playing.

I agree, as a Giants fan being 8 outs from the WS with a 5 run lead in 2002 was much worse than getting swept in '89, and I was at the final game of the '89 series.

They do it often enough that it's ridiculous to blame the kicker when your team still had a lead afterward and then proceeded to blow it twice on defense. Sorry, I just don't get it.

Lyrics to Barney's holiday ditties about Ted's sister:

(to the tune of "Jingle Bells")
"Pulling down her pants,
Yanking off my own,
Underneath the mistletoe I'll make your sister moan!
Oh! Heather's hot, Heather's hot! We'll go all the way..."

(to the tune of We Wish You A Merry Christmas")
"I wish I could see her naked,
I wish I could see her naked,
I wish I could see her naked,
and down on all fours."

(to the tune of "The Dreidl Song")
"Ted has a little sister, gets hotter every day,
And if I ever meet her, with her boobies I will play."

No one can compare to the pain of Bill Buckner.......

Although, his case is similar to the Vikings kicker in that it wasn't two runs that scored on that play. There were other chances to put the game away that were squandered, letting the Mets tie the game, otherwise they never would have been in the position to win on the Buckner play.

So to summarize:

1. Viking fans really do feel this strongly about that game
2. It may not make rational sense to blame the kicker or think of that as the key play of the game
3. Other fans have similar stories of illogical "heartbreak" in other sports

Based on this I have realized I might be the same illogical fan (or really, anti-fan) because of how I feel about an elbow Kobe delivered to the face of Mike Bibby once. Maybe I should start a bar with a theme...
