My satelilite system is a dual lnb round with a 2:4 multiswitch attached, going to 3 recievers. one is an r10 directv tivo dvr reciever(rebuilt), my satelilite cable comes out from the wall. i didn't want to drill a new hole in the wall, but i wanted to connect two sat feeds into the dvr. so (thinking it would work) i bought a digital splitter and 2 digital cables. connected everything, everything seemed fine but when i went channel surfing sat 1(or 2) would go out. if i went to message->settings->satelite->test signal the signals would return. then it would be fine til i changed the channel again.
so, what can i or should i do to get two signals to this dvr reciever. is it just not possible or are there options for me. i'm worried that if i keep it like it is now, when a program that i want to record comes on and it changes channels it'll lose signal and record nothing.

You should buy a satellite multi-switch with more outputs, and run an additional RG-6 cable to the receiver.

So, your cable comes straight through the wall from the outside? Or is it routed inside the wall from either the attic or basement/crawlspace? If it's routed inside the wall, it's not altogether impossible to run a second cable in parallel and fish it out through the existing opening. If it's straight through the wall from the outside, it's a little more effort to keep things looking nice inside and weather-tight outside, but it's possible.
A product that might make your life a bit easier is dual-RG-6 (siamesed) cable. It's two coaxial cables side-by-side, only a little bit wider than a single cable. PartsExpress.com sells a 500-foot roll (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=100-440), but Amazon.com sells the same product from the same supplier in a shorter 100-foot length for about $20. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

This isn't exactly a TiVo Help topic.
Might have been better if you posted it in one of the DirecTiVo forums, or, if this isn't about a DirecTiVo but actually a DirecTV receiver you're using with a TiVo, it should be discussed in an entirely different set of forums, not here at all.
