The scene where the girl had the baby had me ROTFLAMO! When Hank saw it was a black baby and therefore not his and gave the little victory fist pump, it was SO funny! :D
I also loved when Becca's boyfriend explained why he kissed the other girl and he'd do it again, Hank pretty much had nothing to say since he knew he'd do the same thing in a similar situation.
A bit of a misdirect in the previews last week showing Lou Adler still alive. Kind of a ripoff of Pump Fiction with his drug overdose last week too.
Still a great 2nd season for this show, but I think it will be very odd without Karen there next year.

I thought it was a really good ending to a great season 2, I can't wait until S3 to see the fallout of all things. Will Hank go back to being a wild womanizer or will he pack it in and make it all about Becca, and what about the Runkles? Will Charlie and the porn star still be confused or will he get former-cokeysmurf back, lol.

For a while there I thought they were just going to recycle last season's ending--Hank, Becca, and Karen driving off. I'm glad that was just a fake-out.
I wonder if Karen's out of the show, or if her moving back to New York is just another plot point?

I'm hoping they'll still find a way to make "the funny" next season. Dad living at home with teenage daughter, and not having the freedom to womanize at will, doesn't seem that funny... I'm sure they'll make it work somehow.
They've eliminated cokey smurf; being sober isn't funny! :) Hopefully she'll fall off the wagon.
So Charlie is selling BMWs in the valley... Anyone remember someone (I think his old boss or his old secretary) telling him at the beginning of the season that he'd end up selling BMWs in the valley? :)

Good episode, but I'm hoping they don't totally mess things up with Karen moving to NY.
Lots of funny moments all around, and I agree about not liking the Adler fakeout in the previews last episode.

I thought it was a great season. I'll miss Ashby -- great character, great story arc. I don't think Karen will be in NYC long.
Great episode and good season ender, but I still cannot believe that he has not only let Mia get away with stealing his book, he's now almost buddy-buddy with her. I'd be doing everything possible to ruin her life.

Maybe he's waiting for the statute of limitations to run out on the whole sleeping with a minor > 3 years younger than him thing; then he can safely sue her.

I was surprised that mia got away with it as well. After all Karen knows he wrote the book doesn't she? It was her copy that Mia stole.
Next season should be interesting with Hank being a single father. IOW how long before Becca and He move to N.Y. or Karen comes back to L.A.?
I think Charlie is going to be the most interesting character next season and I don't see him staying with Daisy much longer.

Mia stole it from Becca if memory serves.

I loved the Tiger Woods fist pump! Classic.
This show never fails to please me with its direction and tone, even when they take left turns and change things up. I don't want to see Hank in a stable, functional, age appropriate relationship. While it may be what he should do, it wouldn't be entertaining.
Let Charlie Runkle be a lesson to all of us...you are just one porn star obsession away from selling cars in the valley.

I think it would go against the character of Hank for him to sue Mia. He's much too "you live, you learn" to be that spiteful even if the book is rightfully his. There will be other books.

She hadn't read it yet, though.

And he seems to be more concerned that it's well-received than that he receive actual credit for it...

And he seems to be more concerned that it's well-received than that he receive actual credit for it...His satisfaction will ultimately come when she writes her next book, or is unable to write her next book. When she can't match the quality, style and tone, she will be seen as a fraud, or a hack, or worse yet...a one hit wonder.

Actually, Hank gave the only copy of the original draft to Karen to read, but she never read it. Mia stole it and made a copy, then put it back. Karen then gave the original back to Hank, unread. Then Hank was carjacked with the original copy, and it was lost in the car.
It's my understanding that Karen never read it, and thinks that the only copy was lost during the carjacking. Karen does not know that Mia didn't write it herself. Hank never really pursued the issue since he doesn't want it to come out that he was the older man in the book, he didn't want Karen to know he slept with Mia, before he knew who she was (Karen's fiance's daughter) and that she was only 16.
Charlie, Mia, and Hank are the only ones who know that Mia didn't actually write the book.
Whew, I think that's all correct!

And, ironically, Lew, to whom it was instantly obvious Hank wrote it. Unless we're not counting dead people.
For all his glibness, Lew was not a complete idiot....

Doesn't Mia's agent also know?

I was debating this in my head as well. She was present at the meeting when Hank walked in and confronted Mia about it, but as I recall, he didn't actually come out to everybody and say that she stole it. I may be wrong here though.
