I watched it. I think the first episode with the father and son has been the best so far.

It seemed like "G" could very well have his own show. Interviewing people seemed very natural to him.

Agreed, this was not as good as the first week. Probably for two reasons, two people talking about their experience isntead of G being alone probably would've been better.

And G didn't go to as many places or experience as many things as the episode did last week.

Did 'G' not follow the 'at least 100K' rule?

He gave 2 checks for 35K and 2 checks for 10K. That's 90K?

Also, it seemed a little cheap that he only gave out 35K checks when he has 300M sitting in the bank. Perhaps, the donees shouldn't get too much of a shock to their financial lives, but still.

I had read he claims he gave over 100k with donations of other stuff but no idea what that is.

Flowers....rent for a week...food.:D

I'm sorry, but with 300 Mill, how about spending a little if you are on national TV and NOT look like a total cheapy. I have friends with WAY less money...WAY WAY less money than him, that have given away 100K easily. So he just looks sad....just making the minimum...

Maybe others won't agree. He did give money and that is good.

geez how is that woman gonna afford the insurance on that nice car after her money runs out :) I can imagine an insurance agent looking at the car and her address and going wow!

Found a story (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/theampersand/archive/2008/12/11/can-secret-millionaires-add.aspx)

I guess the show messed up?

The author of the article doesn't seem to be paying close attention (he questions what type of show folks other than the millionaire think they are involved in). The show mentions - via on-screen graphics - that the Secret Millionaire's cover is a documentary on poverty.

Yes, I noticed that the figures didn't add up right but I can totally believe that they simply were unable to get the right footage for the third (or third and fourth) personal donation check. Considering the show needs sincere reactions, you can't exactly (go back and) reshoot if you have a technical snafu.

Judging by how the show was edited - pretty much everyone G interviewed, he gave money to - I suspect G wrote checks to the 2 women he sat with at dinner (at the women's shelter, I can't recall the name right now). Complete conjecture on my part though.

Decent enough show.

The 12/10 episode was with Myles and Cynthia Kovacs, the Hispanic couple that spent a week in Watts. It would probably be a good idea to stick to a discussion of the episode in the thread title and not the episode that aired the next day.

IIRC, in the first episode it was mentioned that they didn't have to give any money at all. So I don't believe he was obligated to spend it all. There doesn't seem to be any set amount to give.
