Hi all,

I have a Tivo HD hooked to a Slingbox, hooked to a Mitsubishi 36" TV in the bedroom. The Tivo and the Slingbox are both on my wireless G network in the house. They are all hooked via S-video as the TV only has S and composite inputs. I also have a switch box for the S video to the TV, so the Tivo, Xbox, and Gamecube can display as needed.

Here is the new part. We will soon have a new HDTV Westinghouse LCD in the living room, which has never had a TV in it before this. There is a coax cable connection on the wall for cable connection. But I would like to watch the Tivo on it as well, without pulling the Tivo out of the bedroom.

I have a few ideas already but am trying to figure out which would be a better route to go.
a) Slingcatcher, and ship the Tivo to the HDTV via Slingbox/Catcher setup. In this case I have to buy either a EOP or Wifi netsworkj connection, and the output is only standard def, not HD.
b) Buy a Mac Mini and use it as a Media center, with Slingplayer to ship the Tivo to the new TV.
c) Pull cables and run second output to the HDTV from the Tivo. Is there anything special I would have to do here? Can the Tivo output to two devices at once? I would assume I would run HDMI from the Tivo to the HDTV and continue to use the S video ouput to the switchbox. Should I run HDMI cable or composite?

Thanks,
CJ

I currently output both component and HDMI from one of my tivos. The HDMI goes to the TV nearby and the component goes to a distribution amp in my attic and then to 5 other TVs. Whether you run HDMI or component for your HD signal mostly depends on preference and maybe distance. HDMI will need to have its signal amplified if it goes over a certain distance (depends on quality of cables, but somewhere in the 30-50' range is when it normally is needed).
