Hey there, so basically one day before TiVo announces this holiday offer (http://www3.tivo.com/promo/customerholiday/index.html?tsn=652000180462A1C) I bought a TiVo through Amazon.com. Since TiVo doesn't take e-mail questions (sigh!) I thought I'd ask the pros - do I have to buy through TiVo directly to get the free wireless network adapter and lowered lifetime subscription pricing?

Yes.
Also I got an email about this deal on December 1, not sure why yours was so late.

BTW, this offer does *NOT* apply unless you purchase the package directly from TiVo.com. I just got off the phone with a customer service rep, so, that's a bummer.

Assuming you paid $260 or less for the TiVoHD, and qualified for the MSD pricing on Lifetime, just get the TiVo Wireless Adapter for $40 or less and the only thing you're losing out on is the $50 worth of free movie and music.
At current Amazon prices, you'll actually be spending about $20 less than the current TiVo offer.

Yes, but if you don't qualify for MSD pricing.. (such as I).. then this is seemingly a better deal... or close to it with taxes involved from TiVo anyway (I get taxed on service).
Though, for those who haven't bought yet. Get yourself a TiVOHD for 208 shipped on 6ave with a coupon, spend $330 on a lifetime sub off eBay and get the adapter for $40 on amazon. You're at $578. If you have a 10% off eBay coupon you can get the lifetime for $300.
The lifetime subs through eBay apparently only work on a unit that has never been registered for service before though, I'm not sure why that is.

True but my post was directed at the OP, whose sig line indicates that he already owns a TiVo and possibly does qualify for MSD.
