I have a Comcast standard DVR/HD box that is NOT Tivo, until I can afford a Tvio HD box.
Now, My tv is a 52 inch rear projection HDTV with a DVI port. It is by Aspect.
I purchased a HDMI to DVI cable, since the Comcast box has a HDMI port and the TV has a DVI port or a Component.
Now for some reason, it doesnt seem sharp or clearer at all.
When I turn the TV on it states it is connected as 480-I
in the TV manual, it says that "only DTV format such as 1080i, 720p,480i and 480 p are avaliable for the DVI input. I cannot figure out how to get it to display a higher format like 1080I or 720P.
Also there is a option to set "VIRTUAL HD TO 1080 I" Which I did. Not sure exaclly what virtual HD is.,....
I went through the Cable box setup menus and there wasnt anything in there about setting the format or the TV.
Now I am not sure if it says 480 I , because that's the signal coming from the TV program I am watching, or if its because I am using a HDMI to DVI cable, or somthing else...
Any suggestions?
