What is a really good wmv and avi to dvd converter?

hello,
i have many movies in avi format and some small clips in wmv format which i would like to convert to dvd format.

can anyone please comment on what is a really good converter i can get for free? thanks a bunch

Also, can you guys also tell me what are the best dvd formats that are supported by nero and or nero express?

I use a program called super made by Erightsoft. The program converts alot of formats I use autoformat to vcd ntsc but they also have dvd ntsc and pal.

If you have Vista Home Premium or Ultimate the built in Dvd Maker program works well. If you are still on XP I used Roxio, but that was a long time ago.

I'm partial to "ConvertXtoDVD"... barring anything encrypted (junk DRM), it has worked flawlessly for just about any video file I've thrown at it.
