Hi. This morning my Tivo could not see my desktop computer in the now playing list to transfer programs to it. I finally figured out that it was due to my cell phone, an at&t tilt, being connected to the computer - the address used by tivo dvrs to access your computer setting switched in tivo desktop server properties, had changed to my mobile device and not the network card. When I unplugged it, it worked again. I just had it plugged in to charge the phone. I don't get internet access from the phone to the computer.

I wonder if anyone knows why this is happening and if there is a way to have it plugged in and still connect to the desktop computer through the regular wired network card. The at&t tilt is running windows mobile 6.

Adding: I am running windows Vista

Try changing the IP on tivo to a static or fixed IP of your choosing.

I have VMWare installed, which creates virtual network adapters and TiVo Server will pick the wrong one every time when it starts. Users with Cisco VPNs have reported the same problem. I haven't found any way around it other than to remember to click the Server Properties and change it back to the correct adapter every time I log on.

It actually does write the correct IP address to the registry when you change it manually, but every time TiVo Server starts up it wipes that address and starts over.

It's annoying but not really a show stopper once you know what's going on.
