I bought my Series 3 when they first came out in Sept 2006. I upgraded it to 750 GB a month or so later, and it is still going strong. I'm just wondering how other people have fared...

My vintage Series 1 (Sony SVR-2000) that I purchased in June 2000 is still going strong, although since I don't use it anymore now that I have a TiVo HD, I didn't renew my TiVo service. I did upgrade it at one point to dual 120GB drives (back when 120GB drives cost more than 1.5TB drives do today) and a TurboNET ethernet adapter, and it's never skipped a beat.

All three of mine from 2006 are working fine. Although I did upgrade to a 500GB drive, then a 750GB drive, and finally a 1TB drive on all three boxes.

I wish all my boxes were S3 boxes instead of four being TiVoHD boxes. My S3 boxes have always been better.

Having tried all 3 boxes (S3, THD, HDXL) the original S3 still today is the best box of the bunch and I'm very happy with them.

The upgraded hard drive I installed failed, but otherwise runs great!

Where's the vote for "I don't have an S3" :PWhy should there be? Do you have to be able to vote in every poll?

I was a bit torn how to vote on this one. The facts were these: I ordered two S3s. One of them died almost immediately; however, its replacement has been going strong with no problems ever. The other one had some problems initially (mysterious lockups, one CableCard ceasing to work until a reboot), but they seem to have cleared up.

I have a S3 with a date sticker of 12/1/06 but it sat on the store shelf until this summer :)

Works fine so far

I had my S3 that I purchased in Dec 2006. In Dec 2007 it started random reboots and I had to return it to Tivo. Fortunately it was under the parts part of the warranty still so I was able to exchange it for 49.99 labor charges. IMHO they should give you at least a 1 year full parts and labor warranty like many other CE devices. The new S3 is still doing fine now.

Damn you Wackymann! Minutes after I responded to this poll saying mine was groovy, it went totally berzerk on me. I'm on Fios and just lost about 80% of my channels. I've tried a lot of fixes and gotten no where.
