I did a search and found this post about a similar problem : http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=318073
But in my case, Im using a once supported Netgear G adapter WG121 (and based on the link posted above, Im looking for a G Tivo adapter on Ebay thats affordable). I say that the 121 was once supported, because it used to be on the "official" list but when I just checked, it isnt any more.
But it used to work just fine. Seems now that when ever I select multiple shows to transfer, the Tivo unit totally locks up. If I select a single show, it seems to reboot after the transfer although I cant prove this since I dont monitor when the transfer is completed, but based on the size of the data transferred, it seems to be complete and viewing it shows a completed show. But I suspect that a "service" upgrade may be partially responsible for the problem, cause again, it used to work totally great.
I was initially on Desktop 2.5.1, but upgraded to 2.6.2, with no change to the problem.
Im tempted to drag ethernet cable through the house to see if this fixes the issue. And since Ive never tried hardwiring it, Im not exactly how Desktop would see it.
Ive also experienced some odd restarts when not doing a transfer....could this be some other type of problem, like a failing hard drive? Box was purchased just over a year ago, in august of 2007 so its just out of warranty.
Where to next?:):)
