I have a DirecTivo and I just purchased an HD screen and I still want DirecTV because of the HD lineup but I also want a Tivo. Can I:

Purchase an Tivo HD
Get two DirecTV HD receivers
Plug the receivers into the Tivo HD and get two streams of HD through Tivo

I would imagine there's an IR blaster that I could use to control them.

Is this possible? Any alternatives would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sorry, won't work. TiVO needs cable and/or antenna feeds and has no IR blaster.

Wow... Way to pop my baloon ;)

How does everyone use their HD Tivos? Cable and OTA? There's almost no content on Comcast where I live, I think like 10 channels. OTA, ha

TiVo and DirectTV have made nice and are working on a new Direct TiVo unit. Not sure when it will be available though.

I only use OTA with 12 analog channels and 26 digital channels.

My THD is only set to use 28 channels, and just 2 analog, I had removed most of the analog channels from it.

(2) TiVoHD w/ Verizon FiOS. Love it... If you can get it, I recommend it.

Verizon FiOS now has 100-110 HD channels in most markets where it is available.
