When I try and run the Galleon configure, I get a message that says :

Could not connect to server., Check that the Galleon service is running. Make sure that the ports required by Galleon listed in the FAQ is configured in your PC firewall software.

The Galleon service is definitely running.
Any other suggestions?

I had the same problem. If I close the message and go into properties, and test the connection to your tivo all should be ok.

Thanks. I tried that, but it still keeps trying to connect to the server and I can't get into the properties screen

Grant, go under 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 logon with your admin rights. By default if never changed then username and password is admin. Look for link that says "access or firewall rules" will need to open all ports as described on the galleon port page. This includes all UDP and TCP.

once completed save, close galleon and relaunch.

All features will now be enabled.

Let me know if you get the shoutcast server working, aol updated recently shoutcast api and i was not able to get a station listing.

Good Luck. John

Are you still having the localhost issue we were discussing over on the SourceForge forums?

I gave up - just couldn't get it right and could get any of the other programs to work

I think we covered this in the SourceForge thread, but you disabled IPv6, right? I know Galleon has a problem with that on Linux if IPv6 is not disabled (though we've taken care of that for the next version) but I'm not sure if that's also a problem under Windows (Vista, not XP).

Yeah, just got the 2.5.5 update and now it isn't working at all. I get the "can't connect to server check and see if all ports in the FAQ are open". 2.5.4 worked flawlessly. I tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. First it takes forever for Galleon to come up. I even restarted it in the Control Panel/Services. Then I go File, properties...wait for about 3 min for it to connect then get "can't connect to server check and see if all ports in the FAQ are open". Anyone have a solution?

Yeah, just got the 2.5.5 update and now it isn't working at all.
I normally run Galleon on Linux but I installed 2.5.5 on my Vista machine just to see what would happen. No problems here, it's all working as expected. I have UAC off and IPv6 disabled.

Anything in your wrapper.log or log.txt files?

I didn't have much time to mess with it last night, I'll check today.

Dude, I got problems. Farted around with Galleon and got nowhere. Even went as far as installing TiVo Desktop again. It worked once, when I tried to look at my photos on the PC. When I went back to check it again...I got jack squat. TiVo Desktop even said (Yes, it was talking to me or maybe it was just the sleep dep) "No DVR's were found on this network". I pinged from the PC and it and it came back OK. Weird thing is pyTiVo works just fine. Ehhh, what the heck are you gonna do.

Are you running any sort of firewall software that could be blocking the requests? Have you tried rebooting your TiVo(s)?
