View Full Version : Downloadable content options gone from Tivo S3 Menu?

I checked my S3 to see if it had the Amazon HD option. When I went to the Download section, it came up with a screen asking me to ensure that I have a network connection. This is new because I used to have the Amazon, YouTube, etc options available. Now it's all gone.
The ethernet port is working fine, I've already forced a connection to Tivo and it was successful.
Any ideas?

I'm seeing the same thing. I was able to make a service connection as well and I also verified my privacy settings at tivo.com had not changed.
So, you're not alone. Perhaps TiVo removed all the options if the HD option was showing up prematurely? Total conjecture...

And when did they change the downloadable content options to lock out folks who haven't agreed to give up their privacy?
I'd swear it was only a week or two ago that I was browsing the downloadable content options to see if there was anything worth signing up for...

If you got the latest software update v11.0, it may have moved. I think it is off Tivo Central under a different heading instead of under Find Programs. I haven't gotten the updated yet, so I can't tell you the new names...

Edit: I am obviously not sure this is the problem you are having, but just something that I know is supposed to happen.

Find Programs & Downloads -> Download TV, Movies, & Web Video -> 'TV is not about broadcast...' is what I get.
YouTube is now under Music, Photos, & More.
Can't find Amazon option. My s/w is 9.4-01-2-648.

I'm having the same issue.
When I go to the video on demand and youtube screen it tells me that it can't connect. It was connecting last night. I connected to tivo from the network screen but that didn't help. I rebooted the Tivo and nothing changed as well.

Version 11 should presumably have a main menu "Video on Demand" option, like version 9.3.2. It still goes to the same HME app that was under Find Programs & Downloads.
But right now (on my S3 with 9.4), I'm seeing the message, too. It's the same message you'd get if your network wasn't working. (But, it is, as evidenced in the Music, Photos & More menu.)

I too have the same screen. However, it just happened today as I saw another thread about unbox HD menu item, and when I checked that it was there and the full menu of items was available.
Xmas is right around the corner - hoping for HD content soon.
On another note, I have a wireless connection with the Tivo adapter... is downloadable HD content really practical with this type of connection. That is, might I have to wait 24 plus hours for the download.
Disclaimer - I have only used unbox twice and didn't pay attention to download speed as I was out of town at the time and used my sling to initiate.

I am having the same problem as well. I thought something was wrong with my tivo although I figured if my Tivo was broken, I wouldn't be able to access the music section, so I was going to reboot until I saw this post. I am glad to see I am not the only one with this issue since it lets me know its something on Tivos end and not my end.

That has been happening to me a lot the past 3 days on 9.4. If I force a few connections it restores it. It was just happening to me again, I forced a connection and now I'm waiting at please wait, it took about 1 minute, then It loaded the broadband video list.

The app works now, but it's just a screen that says "Scheduled Maintenance - Sorry! Our systems are temporarily unavailable," etc.

It's working fine for me right now after I forced a connection. I just checked it again. It takes a minute to load, no Scheduled Maintenance. However, yesterday it was giving me the Scheduled Maintenance after I forced a couple connections.

Weird, it works now. (Just checked via slingbox). I didn't reboot either.
But I don't see Amazon HD. Wonder if that's why it was down.

I've had this problem more than once. Each time after forcing a connection a couple of times it cleared up. TivoHD seems to forget where it is. The HD has an ethernet connection which is fine and downloads from Tivo are fine, just the 'download movies' that seems to lose its head.

I have had this problem a few times, and I've found that going to "Music, Photos, Products & More" and waiting until all the icons load seems to jump the system into remembering that it's connected and can access "Download TV, Movies & Web Video."
There was a slight outage for On Demand services on TiVo last night and early this morning. Please try today, it should work now.
