View Full Version : PPV 24 hour expiration without phone line

Hi - I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere.

I haven't allowed my R10 to download the 6.4a update yet because I'd like to avoid the 24 hour expiration for PPV movies. Does anyone know if leaving the landline unplugged once my receiver gets 6.4a will keep PPV movies from expiring after 24 hours?

Thanks for any advice

As far as I know, it will have no effect on that.

24 hours is simply a rediculous limit. A month, maybe even 7 days I could see, but 24 hours? I would think if a movie was deleted before you had an opportunity to watch it happened more than once, it might turn someone against PPV altogether.

We had the discussion about the 24-hr limit months ago when it went into place. Blame the studios, not DirecTV. Note that the 24hr period is from when you start watching it, not just when it records. Who this hurts most are people who have to interrupt their viewing and resume later. It also means no archiving of PPVs.

I was not a consumer of PPVs before this change, and am even less interested in them after it.
