You have read the Daily Show thread about how to get just new daily show episodes, right?

Ok, here's something different.
Because you can now name a WL anything you like, it's possible to create a WL that has disparate recordings in it, by changing the qualifiers. Yet give it a name of your choosing.
In English: Let's say you want to create a WL with your favorite movies. Create a WL, name it "My Favorite Movies". Wait until one of your faves comes on, then edit the WL criteria so they only match that movie. Make it an ARWL (this is critical, that it be an ARWL). That movie will record. Wait until another favorite airs. Change the criteria so they only match that movie. It will get recorded and added to the same folder. And on & on.
I've done this to create folders with some pretty interesting combos. It can also be used to put movies/sequels in a single folder, when they normally couldn't (because they aren't technically an SP). For example, you could use this technique to create a folder/ARWL called "The Godfather Movies", that has the three GF movies. I also use to create HD only folders, simply by adding HD as one of the restrictions. I have all six Star Wars movies, in HD, in a single folder, using this trick.
One caveat: You must use the ARWL to record them, and you must never remove the ARWL setting, or it will defolderize them. If you don't want the ARWL active (temp or perm), do not remove the AR setting. Instead, set one of the criteria to something that will never happen (eg, TITLE must contain 'xxzzxx').

For new TiVo users...
Recording your favorite sports team:

How it appears on your Now Playing list:

For those that like to record several news programs each day, you can have them all organized into a single "Daily News" folder. Example:

I like those screenshots.
For the Daily News wishlist, wouldn't it suffice to enter (HUME), instead of (SPECIAL REPORT WITH BRIT HUME) ? That's just way to many characters to type with the remote, and it's not likely that there will be any other unwanted programs with the word HUME in it.

Yes, it would. I entered the full text in that example so others would see what I was talking about. Not everyone is familiar with the Fox News lineup.

Now you tell me!
I just recorded the three Godfather movies last week and they're scattered all thru my NPL.
Your suggestion is a great idea, wish I had done it.
Oh how I would love to have the ability to create my own folders.
