I think it is great that Tivo has parental controls to block out channels, and to filter programming. But it doesn't seem to have anyway of blocking children from watching shows already recorded that are on the Now Playing list. Am I right, or am I missing something here? I sure wish Tivo would have that option... who should one contact?
Check here (http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/howto/getthemostoutoftv/howto_setup_kidzone.html) for info on kidzone.

yep - my kids were getting caught too often sneaking some TV time in the play room when they were supposed to be doing other things. I set Kid zone to total restriction and now the TV is password protected as they get na empty now playing and no access to any channel.
In the summer I set Kid zone normally so only the agreed upon shows would be in now playing for them and more importantly only the shows and channels we agreed upon could be watched on live TV. It cut way down on the just veg in fornt of some brain rot cartoon and when they were chilling out with the TV I felt good about the shows I knew they would watch. Kid Zone is just what you ar looking for.

You say you set Kidzone to list just the agreed upon shows on the Now Playing List. Where do the other shows, the shows just for you, show up, so you can access them?
I really think Tivo is smart enough to adapt their software to fit this need. I still hope to try and make that happen.

I don't know what you mean, if kidzone is enabled they can't see the now playing list without entering a password.
They see the kidzone now playing list which only shows them approved shows.

It also affects what channels and types of programs can be seen when watching live tv.

The second post in this thread links to the detailed instructions that explains exactly how KidZone works... ;)
Its simple enough to try it and see if it does what you need. If you don't like it, turn it off.
