Keep having to restart

Any ideas? Losing my picture on both tuners. Just black, but everything else functions - guide, list, signal strength is perfect.

6.4a with a newer hard drive added on about 2 years ago. I hope its the drive, but I am not sure it is.

Any ideas?

After I reboot it it works fine for a day or three or a week - random.

Any pixelation of the picture when you do have one?

Thanks for the quick response.

Its an R10 and no pixelation. The unit functions perfectly except for the black screen.

We use the parent lock, and looks similar to that before I need to reboot...just a black screen, but info and guide, etc works.

Try removing the parental lock for a while to see if it still messes up.

It was off - happened again. Any other ideas? Think a new drive will resolve?

Those symptoms are ones normally associated with a bad hard drive.

You said it works perfectly except for the black screen. Exactly what does that mean? Do you only get the menus? Do you get video and then it goes black? Does it play back any recordings either made previously before this problem or newly made (if it does)?
