Has anybody else seen this show? It's very much in the same vein as Christopher Guest's mockumentaries like "Best in Show", except that all three of the main characters are played by the same guy (Chris Lilley). It's an Australian show, and has been out for a while apparently, but they've just started airing it in the US on HBO. So far there's been two episodes.
It follows around three subjects at a suburban public school. There's Jonah, a 13 year old Tongan boy who is a disruptive troublemaker. Ja'mie (pronounced juh-may) who is a rich girl from a private school and is going to the public school as part of a "transfer program." And then Greg Gregson (Mr. G) who is a drama teacher and textbook narcissist.
What's amazing about it is that those three characters are almost polar opposites of each other, but Lilley nails each performance and makes them all unique. Some of the humor can be a bit uncomfortable, but overall the show is hilarious. If you like the mockumentary style, you would love this show.

Haven't watched the 2nd ep. yet, but I liked the 1st a lot.
Maybe it's a Chicago thing?

I'm really enjoying it. Jonah makes the show for me. He reminds me so much of kids I knew in junior high.
Now that I've seen two episodes and like it I'm going to download the rest tonight. I don't want to wait six weeks to finish the season.

Mr. G the NY weather guy?
No, Mr. G is the character's nickname on the show... whether the kids gave it to him or he gave it to himself is up for debate.

I like it though I find it a bit much in one viewing and tend to watch it in 2-3 10 minute sessions. Ja'mie's friends being super hot certainly doesn't hurt. He's really convincing as a girl. I like Jonah the most and Mr G. the least :)

I saw the previews for this and it didn't grab me, mostly because I find the main actor creepy. Maybe I should watch it once.
I don't watch the series Life for the same reason. The lead actor seems like Steve McQueen's mutated clone and it creeps me out.

Love this show. It's one of the few shows where I will watch each episode more than once. Mr. G is my favorite. I think I've had drama teachers with this level of self delusion.
Very funny!

I never took drama in high school, but I did have teachers in film school very similar, at least in attitude.
