What exactly was it that Henry turned into to save Will from the snake creature?

Also, Nikola Tesla was a real person. What's the deal with turning him into an evil vampire?

What exactly was it that Henry turned into to save Will from the snake creature?Looked vaguely werewolfish, but it went by pretty quick.

Also, Nikola Tesla was a real person. What's the deal with turning him into an evil vampire?Jack the Ripper (who they call John Druitt in this show) was also a real person (true identity unknown, but he was real). Expect to see more historical personages abused in future episodes.

But nobody knew who Jack the Ripper really was, so his real identity can be open for speculation.

What's next? Jules Verne turns out to be a space alien? Ty Cobb was really a werewolf?

Does it really matter if they were? (in Sanctuary's reality)

Not a documentary.

And hardly the first to do so. For example, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_League_of_Extraordinary_Gentlemen).

One must admit, however, that LoEG is handled with a slightly higher level of literary talent than Sanctuary... :D

I was not aware that any of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen's major characters -- Allan Quatermain, Mina Harker, Dr. Jekyll, Captain Nemo, or the Invisible Man -- were actual people. So "King Solomon's Mines," "Dracula," "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," and "The Invisible Man" -- those were all biographies? Huh. ;)

I noticed a photo of Helen with Albert Einstein in the opening credits -- does that mean he was an Abby Normal, too? Perhaps an Atlantean? Because, obviously, no mere unenhanced human being could possibly be smart enough to come up with the theory of relativity.

Sorry, I'm not sure what this annoys me so much -- it's just science fiction. It's fun stuff.

Loved his offhand reference to the Philadelphia Experiment, though. Some conspiracy theorists have linked his work on a unified field theory to that story.

We got a good dose of back story. I'm tired of vampires, though.

(Although the timeline doesn't match up, the famous biologist James D. Watson wasn't even born until 40ish years after the 5's experiments.)
I guess arguably they could have been talking about the astronomer James Craig Watson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Craig_Watson)
Or Sir James Watson (http://www.universitystory.gla.ac.uk/biography/?id=WH2034&type=P) a lawyer, stockbroker, and head of the Glasgow Stock Exchange.

But in context of what they were doing the guy who co-discovered DNA makes the most sense. Except, of course, for that tiny fact that he wasn't born yet.

Well, it may be sci-fi, but it would have to be much more grounded in science to be science fiction.

OK. Call me a purist.

I thought the same thing, too, when I heard that. "James Watson? But he wasn't born until decades later. Has to be some other James Watson."
