 Well, I got fios from verizon and I am pretty ticked off. I am cannot find the right schematic to hook up my cable and tv to watch something on tv and record something different on the Tivo. It's a digital signal so Tivo said I needed a serial cable to turn the channels on the thing ( I don't understand that either. ) So, I need to know if anyone has a work around or link to the solutation to my problem. .

Hi fellow Delawarian
What model Tivo do you have? And S3 or S2? Sounds like an S2 since Tivo mentioned using a serial cable (as opposed to IR blasters) to control your digital cable box.
Not a FIOS customer, so not sure I will be able to help much.
Here are pictures of the serial cable and IR cables. They should have came in the box with your Tivo.

If FiOS has gone all-digital in your area, you will need a second box in order to tune a different channel than that on the box attached to the TiVo.
The other alternatives are to go back to analog cable (if still available in your area), use a separate digital OTA box connected to the TV (the built-in one will only work until February unless it is an ATSC tuner), get a DVR from FiOS which will have more than one tuner, or get a Series 3 model and get CableCard(s) from FiOS.
