View Full Version : Channels are Missing - NEW USER

I am a brand new TIVO user. I just set up my Series 2 DT and am with Rogers TV in Canada. All seems to be working fine for channels 2-99, but I only get a black screen above those channels.
I have tried searching for topics, but am overwhelmed by the amount of info here. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm sure it is something simple/basic and I am just useless!

You need a digital box for those channels. The Tivo is not a digital box.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I do have a digital box and all is set up through it, I thought.
I did get these channels before setting up Tivo on this TV and I still get them on my other TV (no TiVo).
I am thinking I have missed 1 connection somewhere but cannot figure out which one.

Wall -> Cable Box -> Tivo -> TV.

Assuming the TiVo is set up as indicated by Turtleboy, you simply need to re-do Guided Setup, indicating you have "Cable with box."

If Rogers Cable still has analog channels in your area, what you also need to do is split the cable, with one feed going directly to the TiVo, and the other to the cable box. That way you still retain some dual-tuner functionality. You'll be able to tune two analog channels simultaneously, or one analog and one digital channel simultaneously. Telling the TiVo which channels require the box and which ones don't are done through the setup procedure.
