Hey There I would like to be able to access my Series 2 TiVo box from work so i can watch shows i have already recorded. Is there someone way to make is accessible with remote access by any chance. I have TiVoToGo Plus and I have a broadband network.

Does any one have any Ideas?

I am on a limited budget as it is, I can't afford to buy new equipment. although I have looked at the slingbox site and think it is a great idea. However I am trying to use what I have got.

Use KMTTG and VideoRedo or comskip to download, strip commercials, and convert the files to MP4. Put the resulting files on a webserver that only you can get to.

That is a great suggestion, do you have url's for those products?

There's an entire company focused on video remote access - Sling Media.

I would find a used Slingbox on eBay - it will save you a lot of time and frustration vs file conversion.

Go to the home media forum here. Find the KMTTG thread, it pretty much IS the URL. It was put together by a contributor here and shared with others who are interested. It is an very bright script that automates several commonly used and highly recommended software tools that you may already have or can easily get.

It seems that having an integrated remote access feature is a the poll winner so far getting well over a combined % of 69.23% of the vote. Sounds like this should be a new feature in future TiVo boxes.

Also, see this active thread:

Besides allowing remote access (with properly forwarded ports), TiVoPlayList (http://tivoplaylist.dyndns.org) can autodownload programs and run a script to convert to .mpg and/or run comskip and/or re-encode to another format (much like KMTTG) and these files could be served back up to yourself using an FTP or web server.

I also failed to mention tiVo-VideoRedo-Autoprocessor Program (TiVAP). So there are actually several ways to skin this cat.
