I have a TiVo HD hooked up to a Visio Plasma tv with hdmi, a cat5 cable, and Western Digital My DVR Expander. Cable service is Cox Orange county, CA.

I ran guided setup last night before getting the cable card, update the software over the internet and rebooted several times. The TV locked up once, so reading about hdmi problems I set the tivo to 1080i fixed.

The cable installer put in a motorola multi stream card this morning. He called in to get it activated then tested the channels. I got all the HD channels and premium channels.

After he left I occured to me that he had only tested ONE tuner. I tried the other tuner only to see a grey screen. I called Cox back and they said it should be working, sent some signals, but nothing helped so they are sending someone Monday.

I rebooted the tivo, and now all the premium channels are missing from tuner 1 and tuner 2 is still grey. The tivo keeps poping up the cable card page with all the numbers.

I rebooted again and now both tuners get basic cable, but not premium. The cablecard page pops up whenever I try a premium channel. I did notice that the "Data" number on the cable card info page changed between reboots, but I dont know what the means.

Anyone have any ideas?

I hate to say this, but if you'd posted this in the Series 3 forum, you'd have found a high concentration of Series 3 people to help you.

I know...

This is the help forum...

It's still true. :)

PS
Which slot did he put the M card into?

He did actually put the m-card in slot 1

I called cox back and finally got someone who knew about tivo's a bit and they re-entered the new "data" number and the premium channels started working! So now its all working and is pretty awesome.

gastrof, thanks for the tip about not using the help forums for help. I'll remember that for the future.
