well
- Dexter has been disappointing (to me anyway) this season - - -
but i gotta say - the final scene in this episode with the key lime pie in the hospital was kinda heartbreaking.
almost redeems the entire season.

Yes, except we saw it coming from the moment we heard her diagnosis.
Same as the stupid Deb/informant thing they're cooking up. Same as Miguel being more than he seems.
I really hate when well written shows go predictable on me. I mean, I can watch idiotic crap as easily as anyone, but when they start out being exceptional and then somehow mutate into mediocre I feel cheated.

This show put together two of the greatest seasons ever on television. Slipping a bit (and it has) this year was expected. I mean how much can you do with a serial killer? It's still provides the best TV of the week and is the one show I look forward to. This week was one of the best of season 3. Let's hope this year follows last where each episode outdid the previous one.

Does anyone else think that the skinner is Quinn ?
It almost seems too obvious though.

What Benefit would Quinn get for being the skinner? I don't buy it.
I really have no idea who the skinner is because each person I think it is ends up making no sense.
1st victim was Freebos girlfriend right?
2nd victim some guy on beach?
3rd victim Wandell?
Forget storyline of guy on beach and how he was connected.
I think that means the skinner is somehow related to the Prado's.
Wife or Husband or brother. That would be the most predictable to me.

I really hate when well written shows go predictable on me.
The thing is, season one was full of people saying "oh my god, it's so predictable, I know just where this is going" and then later the same people saying "oh my god, it so didn't go where I expected!". Then, season two was full of people saying "oh my god, it's so predictable, I know just where this is going" and then later the same people saying "oh my god, it so didn't go where I expected!". I have a feeling that this thread is getting to predictable. I know just where it's going.

I have no idea what his motive is. He does have IAD looking into him and there seems to be a mention in every episode that the cops are the only ones that know the people getting skinned are witnesses. Maybe I'm way off but it just seemed to make sense to me for the last few episodes.

I doubt it. This thread will be lucky to reach ten posts. I'm not so sure many people are still watching this show.

I still like the show and watch every week. I didn't feel like posting before because all of the TV threads seem to be complaining about the show.
There aren't many shows I am excited to watch. This is one of the few.

If it weren't for a spoiler that leaked earlier this season about an accident during production, I'm not sure I'd have figured out where this season is going, but because of that, it's been fairly obvious for several episodes.
However, it is definitely an interesting twist this season that Dexter, a guy that's as private as anyone, has let someone he just met in on his secret.

I'm still watching the show. This season isn't as riveting as last season, but it's still better than most stuff on TV.
I find the story with Jimmy Smits knowing all this stuff about Dexter and wanting to participate, not very believable, and not hugely compelling. The thing with Deb and the informant is also not very interesting. The Quinn storyline, I'm curious as to what his deal is. I'm hoping all of these will intersect in some interesting way, and it better be quick, because I'm losing interest.
YAMM: 2000 posts! Wheeeeee!

I'm still watching and enjoying.
The news item about the stabbing did tip the show's hand a bit, but that's unavoidable.

Dexter seasons are usually 12 episodes. They just aired episode seven last Sunday. If we compare this season to season one, we didn't know who the ice truck killer was at that point. I think the ice truck killer had stabbed what's his name in the parking garage. It started coming to its conclusion in episode 9 or so. Hopefully I haven't violated the spoiler rules by talking about other seasons without tags.
