I have seen people selling Tivo Lifetime subscriptions on Ebay at about $50 less than you can get them from Tivo. Does anyone know if this is a scam or how they are managing to sell this service?
Here are a few item numbers as examples.

Some people went buy happy when Tivo discontinued lifetime service in 2006 and bought as many $299 lifetime gift cards as they could because they don't expire, to sell for a premium price. They were being sold for well over $700 at one time. Now that lifetime service is offered again, the best they can do is offer a price lower than the $399 regular price of lifetime.
They are legit, at least lessd who also participates here is. I don't, however, know why they go about it they way that they do

It sounds like the seller may be purchasing the lifetime service on their account, at the multi-service discount of $299, and then having the buyer transfer it to their own account.
