I read somewhere that MPEG4 decode is supported on the Series3 TiVos but that only specific MPEG4 containers are supported. Does anyone know what that container is? I know it isn't AVI as that has to be xcoded to play on the TiVo...
Any help would be appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated. H.264 video with either AC3 or AAC audio in an mpeg4 container is what is supported. However, currently only streaming (via HME such as my tivostream application or of course YouTube) of that format is supported. HMO support (e.g. Tivo Desktop or pyTivo) for H.264 without transcoding is not currently possible.
NOTE: The Tivo is also picky about mpeg4: the "moov" atom has to be at front of file for it to work (see tivostream docs for more details).
