Hi folks -
I have this plan but wanted to run this up the flagpole before actually doing this. Here's the deal.
I have a WD My DVR Expander that once was connected to my then-stock S3. Before I upgraded the stock drive to 1 TB I divorced the eSATA drive and all is good with that move.
Now I'm thinking about hooking the expander to my already upgraded 750GB THD. I understand that I can't just add it plug-n-play style - I need to marry the expander with MFSadd. I get it.
I'm thinking ahead to where the expander craps out. Now I can't divorce the drive pNp style so what happens?
I don't think there's any easy way to "divorce" the bad drive other than restoring a backup to the internal drive taken when the unit was still a single drive box. I'll end up losing any recordings that reside on the internal hacked drive since I'll have to resort to restoring a backup, truncated or otherwise.
Am I thinking clearly here or has the many years of drug abuse taken its toll ? :o
