DVR Expander Problem

Just received my WD DVR Expander and much to my sorrow, not plug & play.

I have software version 9.4 on my HD Tivo Series 3. The Tivo unit will not recognize the drive. I have swapped cable ends and performed multiple restarts.

Any clues?

Did you restart the Tivo by unplugging it or by selecting the restart menu option? When I got my expander for my Tivo HD it would not recognize it until i restarted the Tivo by pulling the plug.

Make sure that the TiVo is powered down first before connecting the external drive.

Some users have reported that the cable that comes with the My DVR Expander is defective and that they were able to get it to work by simply using a different eSATA cable.

Thanks guys, but somehow, someway, I just it the Tivo button to watch a show and it alerted me that it had found it and asked if I wanted to install it. All seems fine now. I hope a I don't have any of the problems I have read about.
