I'm experiencing a problem with my Tivo HD, where there is a "pop" sound when changing channels. It doesn't happen all the time. I originally blamed it on a new Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver. However, it's happening on my other Tivo HD which is connected via HDMI direct to my Sony XBR-4.
Right now, I'm not sure if it's FIOS related or Tivo HD related. My guess is that it's somewhere in between. That leaves me wondering how to go about troubleshooting. If I call FIOS, I suspect they'll blame TiVo, since it's not their box.
I've read a lot about attenuators, but this seems to be more for pixelation issues. Would this help my audio problems? I'm running 9.4. Diagnostics show signal between 93 and 100. SNR is 36-37.
