I have a Sony SVR-3000 (series 2) that I upgraded with a WD Caviar Blue 500gb drive (Model WD5000JBRTL). I used WinMFS 9.2 and an USB to PATA adapter. Everything seemed to go fine. I did the back up and restore and then supersized drive. When I powered up the Tivo, I got the green screen of death. After about 1 hour it started working and started recording a scheduled show. Anyone else have this experience? It seems to be working fine right now, but should I be worried?
I had upgrade this tivo a month ago with a WD Caviar Blue 160 gb drive (model WD1600JBRTL) using winMFS 9.2. That worked great. I found this 500gb on sale ($80 at Fry's) and thought it was so easy I might as well upgrade again. I did a backup from the 160 gb drive and restored to the 500gb. Did I do something wrong?
