Maybe it is because I am a week away from delivering, but I could not stop laughing at this episode.
I have already told Jeff that the baby will not be covered in butter. :D
I was highly disturbed by the scenes of Dwight giving birth to a watermelon, however.

Pronounced, of course, ass-turd!
When Jan came in with the baby, I don't know if there has ever been a more painful moment on the show. That just stung.

Great episode.
Dwight delivers the watermelon. Michael drops it. Watermelon splits open.
Cut to next scene of Michael eating watermelon.
LMFAO!!
Jan making Michael hold Astrid while she is still in the car seat. :D

Yeah that was hard to watch. As was the scene where she says to Michael "Don't date Holly"..
Great episode, managed to be both funny, awkward and heartbreaking. "The Office" at its finest.
I laughed the most at the scene where Michael watched over Phyllis as she blew up balloons during the interview though. :D

Yes, and considering that Michael was left behind as well, I think it's symbolic.
Also,
"Growing up, I performed my own circumcision"
"Golden Shower"
made just pause the TiVo so I could laugh.

ok, so can someone please tell me what makes a $1200 stroller. It is a foldable basket with wheels and a handle. That's about it. Is it carbon fiber? Is it titanium? Diamond-studded?
For the first time in a while, Michael completely ignores Jan and does the right thing.

"I'm crowning!"
The duelling deliveries (Dwight and Andy).
"Ass..trid" you know someone's going to get it wrong eventually.
"Golden shower" -- had to pause to explain it to my wife.
Too many others. Excellent episode.

Crap! I missed this. Stupid moving and having to unplug one of two tivos and not remembering to set this to record on the remaining one.
But I have to say, reading these threads are SO entertaining when you haven't seen the episode because you are left wondering just HOW ON EARTH those lines/scenarios/etc could logically come to pass...and then you see the ep and they all fit perfectly.

Great episode. "I want my golden shower!" Line of the night for me. I thought the whole episode worked. And I loved the ending scene between Jim and Pam. I thought that was done very well, and wrapped their "off day" up nicely, letting us know they are still on the same page even tough they weren't connecting particularly well during the ep.

Anyone that would buy such a stroller has servants and chauffeurs and whatnot to be bothered by its complete lack of efficiency. The person who would push such a thing cares only about being seen pushing such a thing, nothing else.

I've been watching on and off the entire series, and I still don't understand everything about these people. They're a very weird bunch. I have no idea how they all still work there. I wonder how long I'd be able to stand it.
Wait, that's not true; I do know. I'd work there exactly long enough to build up sufficient material for an absolutely devastating lawsuit. Then I'd sue the crap out of Dunder Mufflin for all kinds of work environment violations, and likely never work another day in my life. I figure that'd take, what? A month. Two, tops.

What voicemails?
From Jim and Pam to each other. The ending scene took place almost as if it were a conversation (which is what made it so damn cute), but it actually wasn't; they both received each other's voicemail.

I thought it was the opposite, that even though they percieved themselves as being off and out of sync, when leaving dueling voicemails for each other they were perfectly in sync. The problem isn't with them; it's the outside circumstances.
I saw it as a sign of hope that they're okay, even if they can't see it themselves.
And think about what's going to happen when they each listen to the messages. They're going to realize it too.

So much to say!
"I want my golden shower!"
Quick note to producers: some of us have not jumped on the HDTV bandwagon and are watching on 3:4 TVs. Better P&S! Quit chopping of Michael's face.
Michael told Holly the reason he was going to ignore her was because Jan was "fat" and he wanted to protect her feelings. When she came in thin he was still mean to Holly, and she saw that. :(
Jan spent a loooooong time singing! Jim's made his phone call in the middle of it. Nice voice! Riot of a song choice. Doesn't sound like the song of an anonymous sperm donor recipient...
I think Meredith was drinking out of a baby bottle during the shower. Spiking a bottle...so wrong.
"Baby Daddy". I loved the "Baby Baby".
Hoooee, Jan was a bitca to Holly. "That's funny."
"Old tomatoes and dirt". Where does he come up with this stuff?
"Don't date Holly" was bitca-y even for Jan. "I don't want him, but I also don't want him to be happy." She wants to keep him around as her safety net. If he's no longer obsessed with her he won't be kicking into the 529.
So great to see Holly's grin when they hugged. I was afraid he was going to break apart from the hug and tell her he couldn't date her. SO glad he asked her out instead! Yay Michael having a backbone!
I loved the "conversation" between Pam & Jim. They'd been out of sync all day, but finally found their groove. Listening to the voicemails will totally make their respective days. I expected the ep to end with their voicemails beeping but I think I like this better. A little less "standard TV fare".

IIRC that was before last season, she broke her back falling on some stairs. She's all fixed now.

Only $900 and free shipping!
Seriously though, the higher end strollers are much easier to use. The next time you have time to kill go to Babies R Us and push a free umbrella stroller & then a Maclaren. It's a noteable difference. (But TBF Macs cost way WAY less than a Orbit!)

Haven't read the whole thread.. but I thought the same thing too.. and I was almost wondering if this was product placement... She was on-camera in the laundromat carrying a basket, so maybe not.
More-or-less just after last year's writer's strike she was on Jay Leno saying that she was now fully recovered, and could do any physical activity she wanted to.
She was convalescing for something like 13 months before that.
During that time, The Office had to be a little creative in how they showed Pam, to hide a somewhat limited range of motion, and to hide some weight gain that was the result of reduced activity.
In the Leno interview, she stated she was wasting no time resuming jogging and working out since she did put on quite a few pounds during her convalescence.
As of now, I believe she's lost most, if not all, of the weight she gained.

I watched the deleted scenes but while she says she went to the sperm bank even in the deleted scene, again we have no proof unless the camera follows her to it.
I still think that it's Hunter's baby (which would make more sense when you factor in the singing).

In the deleted scene she was genuinely aghast at the possibility that Kevin might be the father of her baby. If she had not gone to the sperm bank, there would be no reason for that reaction.
Unless you're arguing that she's also faking her reaction.

I agree 100%.
Before I saw that scene, I was just about positive that we'd eventually learn it was Hunter's baby and the "sperm bank" story was 100% BS.
After seeing that scene, it's obvious that the sperm bank story is true.
Which, it could be argued, makes her an even nastier beyatch than I previously thought. Which is worse: cheating on a boyfriend in a moment of weakness, or deliberately, and with nasty-bitchy careful planing, make him get a vasectomy and go to a sperm bank to get pregnant on the grounds that his DNA "isn't good enough" for you and your baby?
What a nasty beyatch!!!!!
It would totally be poetic justice if Kevin turns out to be the father.
Now that I've said all that:
Are "deleted scenes" cannon?

When Jan said "there's one more thing you can do for me. Don't date Holly."
I thought "Wtf? How dare she?"
Then I thought, "Why does she care?"
Then I saw the hug and I expected him to say that they can't date - when he asked her out I was like "YES!"

Interesting analysis as always, Fish Man.
AFAIK, "deleted scenes" aren't canon.
I know that they've contradicted at least one deleted scene in the past.
However, let me speculate a bit:
What if Jan did both?
What if she cheated with Hunter then went to the Sperm Bank?
She thinks that the baby is from the Sperm Bank but it's really Hunter's?

Or Michael's? Or some other guy altogether?

This definitely makes me go, "hmmmm....".

I've been watching on and off the entire series, and I still don't understand everything about these people. They're a very weird bunch. I have no idea how they all still work there. I wonder how long I'd be able to stand it.
that explains the whole 'not understanding the michael/toby relationship' last week.

Yeah, my lack of faithful watching from the beginning is probably why I didn't get it sooner, but in my defense, it's only occasionally that we see Toby actually ruin fun, and it's pretty much every episode that Michael is upset about it, so it really does seem like Michael just hates the guy.

Nobody ever said that Michael doesn't just hate the guy. Most of Michael's treatment of Toby was completely irrational and based solely on personal hatred. But it all stems from the fact that Toby, as the HR rep and not a direct employee of the Scranton branch, has repeatedly put dampers on things Michael wants to do, many (most) of which are wildly inappropriate and/or might result in a lawsuit. However, rather than realizing that Toby is simply looking out for the company (and Michael, indirectly), Michael views it as Toby being a funsucker, thus leading to Michael's irrational hatred of Toby.

Based on this deleted scene (http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/video/clips/baby-shower-clip-two/771802/), I think it's possible that she might be, but I can't be completely sure.
LOL! What a great scene!

I love it when Jan said, "It's what these were made for."
...because, uhm, actually, no it's not. It might be what most of those are made for, but yours were made, by science, out of silicone, for the purpose of more easily manipulating Michael.

Wait. What?
Can that really happen? With the stroller, going off the curb, not flipping?

I didn't notice anything in that clip that seemed very strenuous or difficult for the stroller. Although I did notice how ugly the stroller is, particularly the baby carrier part.

The very first thing Dwight did, when he pushed it off the curb, that almost certainly should have caused the stroller to flip over, and yet, it did not.

I'd think it would have to be a pretty poorly designed stroller to flip over when only going down a 6" curb.

Well I guess I don't know anything about strollers then. I can tell you this much though. Going off that curb in a wheelchair, yeah, you'd flip.

Worth watching for the look on Creed's face alone. I love that guy.

the 2 deleted scenes on the nbc site are great. the sperm bank had me lol'ing. and nice to see a sort of cameo by ****.
Since the NBC site doesn't allow people outside the US to see the clips, is there some other means to see them?

This is outside the scope of my skill set, but I think you can use a proxy server to fool the NBC site into thinking you are surfing from the US.

We have now run up against that "outside the scope of my skill set" wall to which I had earlier alluded. :D

In the deleted scene she was genuinely aghast at the possibility that Kevin might be the father of her baby. If she had not gone to the sperm bank, there would be no reason for that reaction.
This.

The lack of letterboxing may be the fault of your local NBC affiliate -- I watch KNBC here in Los Angeles via DirecTV, and before I upgraded to HD, I always got "The Office" letterboxed.
Gotcha. Fortunately we're going HD soon, so I'll just let it go. :)
