No thread? Wow. It wasn't that bad. And I knew it wouldn't be a future team in the suits.

If those suits could not protect them on the planet surface, that must be a VERY hostile planet they chose.
This group of Asgard can fly through the ancient's shields, easily burn through the Atlantis decks, but need the humans to activate/operate the device? Yeah, I know about the necessary gene, but if they can do all that, tricking the gene detector can't be THAT hard.
Todd is growing on me. It's always nice to have a recurring enemy that you can almost, but not quite trust.
Coonsidering how many times Daniel has saved the Earth, and even the galaxy, Rodney should have given him a little more respect.
Great! You solved the problem just past the nick of time.
Todd has been alive for a VERY long time if he remembers when the field was originally activated.

My nit is that they were so advanced but they still got their butts kicked in battle by jalopy spaceships put together by space gypsies.

Wraith live for a very long time. Also, they were in hibernation/stasis for a very very long time before they got woken up in the Atlantis pilot episode.

I wonder if we are going to see the suits again or if they will be forgotten about.

I have to say it was a WOW moment when the Asgard stepped out.

For me it was more of a  moment. Pure plot device, no logic.

they will be forgotten about just like the personal shield device rodney found and tried out.

What? No mention of the young Kaylee-wannabe as the engineer of the Travelers' ship?

He killed the battery on it.

A good episode, I thought.
Wondered what Rodney's problem with Daniel was...aren't they both on the same side?
Interesting point about Todd. Yes, he's an enemy you can almost trust. In this case, he really thought the humans pulled one over on him...one can't blame him for over-reacting.
I wonder if that ancient outpost they blew up had a ZPM they could have stolen.

I really liked this 2 part episode. Actually, this whole half-season has been really good. Too bad it is the last.:(

No, it's not. There will be another half-season coming right up...and this time we don't even have to wait for it!

Oh, I see. But after, that, it's over...right?
So we get, what, 18 or so more eps?

Oh that's right. I said "This would have been the PERFECT opportunity to cast "Kaylee" if she wasn't already on the show." :)

I think there's nine left. Last week was Episode 11, and the second half of a two-parter--all the hallmarks of a mid-season premiere. For some reason, they seem not to have split this season.

Has this been formally announced?

Yes. I'm sure there's a thread about it somewhere.

I read an interview with one of the producers on the Stargate site stating they're taking the same direction as SG-1: straight to DVD movies moving forward.

I can live with that.

Intentional reference to a previous cast member's line from another movie or complete coincidence?

hey!
at least I made a guess :)
the last few shows have been decent...agree that we still have no reasonable explanation for the suits (other than surprising the viewers)...

geez rod can be an azz....couldnt leave well enough alone and had to spoil the maalox moment of kindness. For a moment i thought they would kill off daniel. That would have been a good twist.
did the asgard back out of the suit?
i think todd was alive 10000 years ago if memory serves me

OK, after just watching this and "First Contact" I have to say I was thoroughly impressed! They could have easily bundled these two episodes together and called it a Stargate Atlantis DVD movie -- and I would have liked it! The whole sha-bang felt BIG and cinematic...like a film. ;)
A+

Where did Colonel Caudwell go?
Why did you revive a thread from a year ago which someone else for some reason also tried to revive back in June?
IndyJones1023

Because he wanted to know where Colonel Caudwell went.

Because he wanted to know where Colonel Caudwell went.
Well, I think it's a valid question.
I watched First Contact and the Lost Tribe this weekend back to back.
And Caudwell was there when Todd unleashed his Wraith nun-chucks and then nothing.
He's gone.
What happened?
You're telling me that the commander of the ship wouldn't be chomping at the bit to take it back?

I think it's a valid question, too. I just have no recollection of that episode anymore. Damn CRS syndrome.
