View Full Version : Olevia 65" LCD (265T FHD): Remote Codes?!

I'm going crazy trying to find codes that will let me control my new TV with the remote from my series III Tivo. I bought a lovely Olevia 65" LCD, couldn't be happier with it. Except for having to revert to juggling two remotes again, which is no fun. I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in every post on the subject. Tried all the different brands that might work (Philips, RCA, etc, etc), as well as the sequential codes; gone through them for an hour with no luck...
Is it possible that I'm going to be stuck using two remotes forever with this thing? Or might Tivo add new codes to their settings when a new version of the tivo software comes out?
If anyone has a solution, I'd be in your debt if you could help me out. This is driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance,

sorry but yes, the current olevia's use codeset NO other tv brand ever used before.
It took directv and cable co to release a new remotes with a code that worked the current olevia. That that happen to be made by the same company, UEI.
The first generation of olevia did use the codeset from either Rca, yamaha, lg or philips. but not yours.
You can get upgrade to a universal remote, or if you like the tivo peanut, get Tivo GLO remote, it won't have a preset code either, but it is a learning remote and you can teach the commands off of your olevia tv remote.
Some cheap universal remotes with a preset code for the current olevia include the radio shack models 15-133, 15-134, and 15-135. The olevia code in them is tv 11610.
Then theres the URC R6 & WR7, olevia code is TV 432.

Edmund,
You are THE MAN! Turns out my remote (came with the series 3) already IS the GLO remote. I followed the instructions to program in (searched for 'glo remote teach' at tivo.com) and BAM! I'm in single-remote heaven again. YES!
Thanks,

Well, I'm having the same problem, except I have the old peanut, and not the glo. Am I stuck? I went all the way through the code search with no luck.
If I threaten to send my new (lifetime subscription!) HD Tivo back, do you think they'll gimme a GLO, or am I stuck buying one?
Also, whoever is in charge of Olevia needs needs to be smacked. what the hell was wrong with the codes they were using before?!

Guy_jin: I suggest u buy a GLO remote, since both Olevia & TiVo don't 'NO NADAH'. Trust me, I wasted hrs! The 'Face2Face' (Remote2Remote) position DOES work. The TiVo recommended start with '999 & press up, up' BS fails. A total waste of time. IMHO both TiVo & Olevia are to blame 4 creating such 'bleeding edge' stuff without the backup!
PS: Ur HD TiVo 'shoulda' come with a GLO remote, I think. ... I would complain, grumble with TiVo until U get a GLO, if I were u.
