Black Screen

I have a series 2 tivo. The other day, as I went to watch a recording, I discovered a frozen image on the screen. When I hit "live TV" there was nothing but black on all channels.

Analog cable through the RF input; digital cable box through the RCA inputs. No video/sound on either.

Restarted the tivo with no success.

Re-did guided set up with no success.

All pre-existing recordings play out fine.

The unit acts as if it is recording a season pass event, but when you try to view it there is no clip duration, you can't FF or rewind.

I can still download video and those play out fine also. My experiment was a few music videos from Music Choice.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

This is a series2 dt? The freezing happens in live tv as well as tivo menues?

Not a DT. Purchased and activated in Dec. 2005. No other freezing/frozen video in menus or playback. Everything works just fine, other than the black screen.

OK. Nevermind. All is well. The resets didn't work but a full power cycle has everything back up and running as it should.
