I bought my Sony SVR 2000 from my son when he worked for tweeter. I got the lifetime TV Guide and the unit has broken down on me six times. It was fixed for free due to my sons empolyement and seemed to all be hard drive problems. We moved and it has been in a box for two years and I took it out and hooked it up. Seemed to be working and I had to redo everything and while it stated "this might take an hour" five hours later I unpluged it due to heat. No more free service for me so I opened it up. I then hooked it up as a slave and nothing was on it. I did some research and learned the lifetime is good with the serial number. I plan on using the InstantCake but how do I tell what series I have? What format should the drive be in Fat 32 or ntsf?? The bigger the hard drive does that give me more recording room i would think so but never know? I'll list the question i have again since I was a bit chatty.
1. How do I tell what series I have?
2. What format should the drive be in?
3. Is instantCake a good product?
4. does bigger mean more recordering space?
Thank you in advance
